Maestro for a Moment 2017-18
Jan is a community-favorite native of Gallipolis – and for good reason! Jan is known to those in both Mason and Gallia counties as the ultimate cheerleader and supporter of her husband coach Wayne Bergdoll, of their children and grandchildren, of athletes and their parents, of community friends, and of anyone who is lucky enough to cross her path and receive a “glittery hug”.
Through the years Jan has been a bright local example who shows first-hand how love and kindness can bring a community closer together. As the rock-steady support system for her husband, she has become one of the biggest cheerleaders for Pleasant Valley Hospital, as well. Obstetrician and gynecologist Fri Mofor-Eta, M.D., nominated Jan to represent Pleasant Valley Hospital in this season’s The Ohio Valley’s Symphony Maestro for a Moment fundraising campaign, which Jan gladly accepted – giving in yet another way that enriches the lives of those around her by supporting the music!
Originally from Columbiana, Ohio, Matt decided to settle in Gallipolis, Ohio while passing through during a motorcycle trip. He stopped to rest, and while sitting on the swings overlooking the Ohio River was struck by the peaceful, relaxing river views. That day changed the course of his future, leading him to become a Gallia Co. resident and Managing Partner at Traywick Financial.
In his spare time Matt enjoys riding his motorcycle and he loves the outdoors. Matt dreams of making Gallipolis a better place for the future, and has a strong passion for helping all children succeed. Matt believes strongly in his faith. He enjoys spending time with his wife, and fellow Managing Partner, Jaime Traywick, and his children, Gabriella, age 2, Jackson, age 7, and Ava, age 10.
Ryan Yavorsky recently moved to Gallipolis from Athens, Ohio, where he is a third-year medical student at Ohio University. Now completing his residency at Holzer Health Care Systems, Ryan was pleased to learn of Gallipolis’s very own professional orchestra, The Ohio Valley Symphony, and was excited to attend his first OVS concert in September which featured violinist David Kim. Growing up in Youngstown, Ohio, he became passionate about music and learned to play the viola and bass along with other instruments. He looks forward to raising money to help grow this under-appreciated and great symphony!
