A founding member of the Montclaire String Quartet, dedicated teacher and author of over seven musical plays for children, cellist ANDREA DI GREGORIO has shared her passion for chamber music through both her instrument and her innovative educational programs. A native of Casper, Wyoming, Ms. Di Gregorio received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado and her Master’s degree from Yale University as a student of Aldo Parisot. Post-graduate study continued with the Fine Arts Quartet at the University of Wisconsin at the esteemed Institute of Chamber Music. Ms. Di Gregorio has held principal cellist positions in the Cedar Falls, Seneca, River Cities, New Hampshire Music Festival and currently, The Ohio Valley Symphony and the West Virginia Symphony Orchestras. She has participated as soloist, recitalist and chamber musician in concerts on three continents including two recitals at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. A strong proponent of music education, she has served on the faculties of the University of Northern Iowa and currently West Virginia State University. She is also an Artist-in-Residence and director of the string education program in five local elementary schools in the Charleston, WV area. She has recordings with the Yale Cellos on the Delos label and with Montclaire String Quartet on the Koch label.
