2017 Ariel’s Black History Celebration!
Each February the historic Ariel Opera House is joined by national and local partners in celebrating the places and people who have made a difference in our community. From plays, presentations, musical performances — this special event is always unique and 2017’s celebration was no different!
On March 12, 2017 the Ariel Opera House was joined by narrator Elaine Armstrong and The Ohio Valley Symphony Woodwind Quintet in presenting “THE STORY OF JOHN GEE, an historic Gallipolis hero”. The program was presented in honor of the late Dorothy Casey, Executive Director of the John Gee Black Historical Centre, Gallipolis, Ohio.
